Adderall is a combination of amphetamine and dextroamphetamine. These are central nervous system stimulants which act on the chemicals of the brain and nerves which are responsible for impulse control and hyperactivity. Adderall drug is used to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and narcolepsy. Discussed below are certain clinical trials conducted on Adderall to ascertain its efficiency.
Case 1: Clinical trials of Adderall in people of age 6-12
Adderall XR, 10 mg capsules taken once in the morning to treat ADHD for children between 6 – 12 years. Adderall doses are 1 * 10 mg, 2 * 10 mg or 3 * 10 mg. Adderall eligibility is for both genders. Children between 6 – 12 years and the criteria are males and non – pregnant women, diagnosed with ADHD combined with hyperactive-impulsive subtypes. A stable set of stimulants for a time span of one month at least in the last six months that has shown sufficient response to the stimulants without any side effects. With Adderall dosage and treatment, these children were successfully able to manage and overcome hyperactivity and impulsive behavior and develop attention in children for a longer span.
Case 2: Clinical trials of Adderall in people of age 18-60
This is a placebo-controlled outpatient study of the safety of Adderall XR while treating for co-morbid ADHD and cocaine dependence. Adderall XR, 60 mg per day. The aim of the study is to determine the efficacy of Adderall in promoting the abstinence of cocaine and ADHD improvement among comorbid ADHD and cocaine dependent patients. It was eligible for patients between 18 – 60 years for both genders. The criteria includes, patients to have used cocaine at least four days in the past month, with a BMI greater than 18 kg/m2, women of childbearing age treated with contraception and who agrees to get pregnant during the study, (blood pregnancy tests will be conducted regularly on her) and the study medication Adderall will be discontinued if she gets pregnant.
Patients were controlled with depression and anxiety which seem to occur alongside ADHD. The Cocaine dependence was not controlled and failed with this treatment as it required rehabilitation procedures which include behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, pharmacological therapy (methylphenidate treatment). Patients diagnosed with co-morbid ADHD can buy adderall and get treated for their ADHD issues. Adderall can be prescribed from a reputed online pharmacy, which has online doctors available 24/7 so that they prescribe and provide guidance to patients worldwide.
Case 3: Clinical trials of Adderall to determine efficacy in treating patients with comorbid ADHD
This is a study where 75 subjects were enrolled in a 14-week trial. The objective of this study is to determine the efficacy of ER-MAS (extended release mixed amphetamine salts) in promoting cocaine abstinence and improvement in ADHD among cocaine-dependent patients with comorbid ADHD. Adderall doses are 80 mg per day of ER-MAS. The aim is to determine the improvement in general functioning and impulsivity of comorbid ADHD and cocaine-dependent patient by determining the effect of ER-MAS. The eligibility was for patients between 18-60 years both genders. The criteria include patients who meet DSM-IV criteria for current cocaine dependence and adult ADHD, alcohol breathalyzer at consent lesser than 0.04%, patients must be capable of giving complying with the study procedures.
ER-MAS decreased impulsivity because of its long duration of action and Adderall’s tolerability in adult ADHD. Adderall was helpful in treating cocaine dependence because of its long acting amphetamine qualities.
